How to Improve your Immune System
Dr Hayden discusses how to boost your immune system by increasing resistance and decreasing stressors.

- Different people have different levels of immunity based on the health or strength of their immune systems.
- If you had 100 healthy-looking people in a room and somebody came in with a cold, would you expect all 100 people to catch that cold? Probably not. We’d probably find that some people get the cold and some people don’t and the question is ‘why?’ The answer is ‘immunity.’ Some people are more resistant to cold and flu germs and others are more prone.
- Our overall health can be defined in terms of our body’s ‘resistance’ and the level of ‘stressors’ on the body at a given time. To improve our overall health and immunity, we need to increase our resistance and/or decrease the amount of stressors on the body
- Decreasing stressors includes things like making sure you’re drinking plenty of water in winter, making sure you’re eating better food and making sure you’re still getting some exercise
- Increasing resistance includes things like making sure you’re still getting out and about and making sure you’re as healthy and as fit as can be
