But does it ever feel hard to action them?

Setting goals is easy. Taking meaningful steps towards them is hard.
But maybe that’s because you’re approaching them the wrong way.

Here’s our favourite three-step formula that will help you achieve anything. (Take note! The final step is very important, but often overlooked).
1. Aspire
What would you like to do? Be? Have?
Take some time – preferably in front of a rosy sunrise – to ask yourself:
What am I aspiring to?
Maybe it’s to ‘finally get fit’.
Vague – but that’s OK. This part is about conjuring the thing you want. Letting your dreams bubble to the surface. Picturing your ultimate outcome.

2. Set a goal
Here’s where the strategic stuff starts.
You’ve conjured up an aspiration – ‘to get fit’ – let’s lock it in (Eddie).
The trick is to build it into your week.
Not like: 2 hours morning and night while the kids fend for themselves. That’s never going to happen.
More realistic?
- Walking to work (or part of the way) on Monday, Wednesday & Friday
- Social tennis on Saturdays
- 2 x holistic training sessions (go with with your partner, spouse or bestie for extra motivation)
Speaking of willpower; here’s something more persuasive. It’s the third and final step in setting kick-ass goals that stick.
3. Have a vision.
A vision is your why.
Your bigger picture, your all-consuming purpose.
It’s a magic motivational missile.
WHY do you want to get fit?
What does it mean to you?
What are the irrefutable benefits that’ll help you through the hard bits (ouch! these squats burn!) and get you to the other side?
If your goal is ‘improved fitness’, maybe your vision looks like:
- Playing beach soccer with the kids (and beating them)
- Walking up the driveway without panting
- Participating in a local fun run with your partner
- Having sustained energy all day
- Aches and pains disappearing
- Opening jars without asking the hubby
These represent reasons to persist – even when the going gets tough.
They’re bigger than the goal itself; they’re meaningful and life-changing.
What does this have to do with Chiropractic Care?
